Our award winner:
Honoring Sofia Su
It is with great honor and profound admiration that we present this year’s Norwegian Sexual Diversity Award to an individual whose tireless dedication, visionary leadership, and boundless compassion have transformed the way we understand and experience intimacy, connection, and self-acceptance.
Sofia Su, the founder of Lollipop, has created a revolutionary space that goes beyond the superficial and mechanical notions of sexuality. Lollipop is a sex-positive, conscious intimacy space that welcomes all genders and offers a sanctuary for those seeking to explore a healthy and heartfelt connection to their own sexuality. Through her work, Sofia has enabled countless individuals to rediscover the joy of intimate connection that is rooted in the heart, bridging the gap between the physical and the emotional, and fostering relationships that are as meaningful as they are sensual.
But Sofia’s work does not stop there. She is also the creator of Juicebox, a unique and empowering space specifically designed for women. Juicebox offers women the opportunity to connect with each other in a supportive environment, where they can explore and integrate parts of themselves that may have been hidden or shamed. This space is not just about empowerment, but about healing, embracing authenticity, and celebrating the full spectrum of womanhood.
In addition to these groundbreaking initiatives, Sofia is the founder of Ostara, a techno and sake bar in Oslo that defies conventional boundaries. Ostara is more than just a nightlife venue; it is a space where people can embrace their true selves in an atmosphere of acceptance and freedom. Through events like naked techno and Tittie-Techno, Sofia encourages individuals to become comfortable in their own bodies, breaking down societal barriers and creating a community that thrives on mutual respect and love.
Sofia Su’s work has not only provided physical spaces for connection and self-discovery but has also sparked important conversations around sexual diversity, body positivity, and the importance of creating environments where everyone can feel safe, seen, and celebrated. Her influence extends beyond the walls of her venues, impacting the wider community by challenging norms, dismantling stigma, and promoting a culture of inclusivity and understanding.
Through her dedication, Sofia has shown us that sexuality is not something to be feared or repressed, but rather a powerful force for connection, healing, and joy. She has created spaces where people can explore their true selves without judgment, and in doing so, has helped countless individuals find the courage to embrace their identities and live authentically.
For her remarkable contributions to the community, for her unwavering commitment to creating spaces of love, acceptance, and empowerment, and for her relentless pursuit of a more inclusive and understanding world, we are proud to award Sofia Su with the Norwegian Sexual Diversity Award. Sofia, your work has touched the lives of so many, and it is with deep gratitude and respect that we honor you today.
